The BusinessMinor Program at Emerson College is looking for part-time facultyto teach our foundational Finance and Accounting course (MB 310)beginning Fall semester 2025 (September 3rd to December 16th) aswell as Spring 2026 and Summer 2026 semesters. Successfulcandidates will have a firm grasp of foundational concepts infinance and accounting, including: in-depth understanding of corporate accounting and financialstatements approaches to managing leverage understanding time value of money and assetvaluation estimating rates of return and cost of capital Emerson College believes the pathway to achieving inclusiveexcellence and fostering a campus climate where everyone can thriveis only possible in an authentically equity-centered, accessible,and socially just environment. Course Description for Finance and Accounting (MB310) Students learn basic concepts and language of finance andaccounting and learn to create, interpret, analyze, and evaluatefinancial statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, cashflow statement). Armed with this knowledge, students then use casestudies and in-class exercises to analyze how managers use datapresented on financial statements to make decisions aboutbudgeting, cost allocation, and overall company performance. Inaddition, students get introduced to investing, investmentdecision-making, cost of capital, and the time value ofmoney.
