Prep Cook [ Ayudante de cocina ]

Join our Commissary team as a Prep Cook and play a key role in preparing fresh, high-quality meals in our Bushwick, Brooklyn kitchen. Key Responsibilities / Responsabilidades: Prepare ingredients including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning food items according to recipes and chef direction. Assist with preparation of stocks, sauces, dressings, marinades, and other basic components. Measure ingredients accurately to meet recipe and production standards. Maintain clean and organized prep stations, storage areas, and kitchen equipment. Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. Label, date, and properly store all food items in accordance with food safety guidelines. Assist with inventory rotation using FIFO standards. Support cooks and chefs during high volume periods as needed. Report equipment issues, food waste, or shortages to kitchen leadership. Properly operate and care for kitchen tools, knives, and equipment. Comply with all Proper Food policies, procedures, and safety standards.
