A growing and vital company, Flex-N-Gate provides a great opportunity for hard-working and skilled individuals.Job Title: 3rd Shift- Assembly OperatorStarting Pay Rate: $20.75 per hour ($21.25 after 90 days) Schedule: 11pm-7am, with mandatory overtime as needed Reports To: Assembly SupervisorJob Summary: We are seeking a dependable and motivated Assembly Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for assembling automotive bumpers and components according to established work instructions and quality standards. The Assembly Operator will perform a variety of tasks including washing bumpers, retrieving materials, installing components, inspecting parts, and moving bumpers through the assembly process. Positions within the assembly cells are rotated throughout the shift to promote safety, quality, and efficiency.Responsibilities:Wash bumpers on tables, stands, and floor racks as requiredRetrieve bumpers from racks ranging from floor level to 6 feet high and transport them to assembly stationsRetrieve attachments and components from racks and shelving, including materials stored up to 74 inches highRetrieve boxes of small components such as nuts and bolts from shelves; boxes may weigh up to 40 poundsAssemble bumpers by attaching nuts, brackets, lights, wiring, and plastic components according to work instructionsPerform repetitive hand and wrist movements and use fine motor skills to manipulate nuts, washers, clips, and other componentsUse a 12-pound nut runner at approximately 4-foot height to fasten nuts and use a rubber mallet to install bumper attachmentsOperate two-handed manipulators and hoists, when assigned, to assist with lifting and placing assembled bumpers into floor racksManually lift, carry, and place bumper parts weighing approximately 6.7 to 63.5 poundsMove bumpers and parts between assembly stations as they progress through the production process, individually or with another employee when requiredPush and pull racks of bumpers using up to 25 pounds of forceFollow all safety, quality, production, and work instruction requirementsMeet established production standards, with a target rate of approximately 500 bumpers per 8-hour shiftRotate between assembly positions, generally up to every 2 hours, as assignedMaintain a clean and organized work areaAdditional duties as assignedShift is 8 hours. May work overtime up to 10–12 hours. Employees receive two 10-minute breaks per shift and one 20-minute meal break. Employees get paid the entire time they are clocked in and do not clock out for breaks, if taken on campus.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferredMust be able to communicate effectively in EnglishAbility to follow written and verbal work instructionsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to perform repetitive assembly tasks while maintaining production and quality standardsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to rotate between assembly positions as assignedAbility to work required overtime as neededPhysical Demands:Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver bumper parts weighing approximately 6.7 to 63.5 poundsMust be able to lift and carry materials from floor level to heights of up to 6 feetMust be able to retrieve attachments from racks up to 74 inches highMust be able to lift and move boxes of components weighing up to 40 pounds from shelves up to 55 inches highMust be able to stand continuously on a concrete floor with intermittent walking throughout the shiftRegularly required to bend, reach, twist, push, pull, grip, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movementsMust have the fine motor coordination and hand strength necessary to manipulate nuts, washers, clips, wiring, and other small componentsMust be able to operate a 12-pound nut runner and use a rubber mallet during assembly operationsMust be able to operate a two-handed manipulator using push/pull motions and thumb controls when assignedMust be able to push and pull bumper racks using up to 25 pounds of forceAbility to work with another employee when two-person handling of bumpers or parts is requiredMust be able to work an 8-hour shift with potential overtime up to 10–12 hoursWork Environment:The work environment is representative of conditions typical for a manufacturing facility.
