Product Manager, Custom Built Platform

Job Description We are looking for a Product Manager to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below. Our client is seeking a Product Manager, Custom Built Platform to own and evolve a proprietary, internally developed platform that supports critical business operations. This role partners closely with engineering, stakeholders, and leadership to define product vision, prioritize roadmaps, and deliver high-value solutions. The position is remote, with candidates based in Columbus, Ohio. What You'll Be Doing
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a custom-built internal platform
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and engineering teams
- Gather, define, and prioritize product requirements based on business needs and user feedback
- Translate complex requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and priorities
- Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning support, and ongoing roadmap refinement
- Balance feature development, technical improvements, and platform scalability
- Analyze product performance, usage data, and feedback to guide prioritization
- Partner with engineering, QA, and leadership to ensure high-quality delivery
- Drive continuous improvement of the platform and product management practices
- Proven experience as a Product Manager supporting custom or internally built platforms
- Strong understanding of Agile product development methodologies
- Experience working closely with software engineering teams
- Ability to translate business needs into actionable product requirements
- Comfortable prioritizing competing demands in a complex environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience supporting enterprise or cross-functional platforms is a plus
- Background in SaaS, internal tools, or platform-based products preferred
- Remote role with Columbus-based collaboration
- High-impact ownership of a mission-critical internal platform
