Registered Nurse (Psych/Behavior) (Nights) - Locust Grove, VA

Schedule: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM) Pay: $45-$50/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Behavioral Health team. This role provides critical support in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment and delivering high-quality medical care for clients. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, assist direct care staff, and ensure effective coordination of healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop care plans.
• Administer medications, including injections (IM, PPD, Long-Acting Antipsychotics) per physician orders.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, medication administration, and care provided.
• Coordinate pharmacy and laboratory orders, ensuring timely refills and delivery.
• Monitor and secure controlled medications per policy.
• Provide education to residents and families regarding medications and treatment plans.
• Participate in admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain infection control standards within the facility.
• Foster a therapeutic environment and provide individualized counseling as needed.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN license in Virginia.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• 1+ years of RN experience (psychiatric nursing experience strongly desired).
• Strong knowledge of nursing procedures, the nursing process, and medication administration.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs.
• Capable of prolonged standing, walking, and other physical activities as required.
