Academic Coordinator - Chemistry

Position Summary Position works with the Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) and Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) in Chemistry to organize and administer programmatic components essential to the educational mission of the department. Additionally, the incumbent serves as a key liaison to Arts & Sciences and supports faculty teaching Chemistry courses, especially General Chemistry. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Develop and administer programs for students. Develop and administer internship opportunities. Serve as liaison to deans’ offices and other departments. Interview and advise students. Manage student records. Coordinate and help implement curriculum changes. Occasionally teach as needed. Oversee course listings and schedules each semester. Coordinate assessment of programs. Submit reports as required. Assign Teaching Assistants (TAs). Assign graduate student office space. Coordinate recruitment orientations and meetings. Help supervise non‑academic staff. Working Conditions Normal office environment. Ability to travel to various on‑ and off‑campus locations. Typically sitting at a desk or a table. Use of office equipment. Education and Qualifications PhD or terminal degree or a combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education. No specific certifications or professional licenses required. No specific work experience required. Desired skills include academic advising, analytical thinking, cross‑functional work, education policy, interpersonal communication, oral communication, problem solving, teaching, teamwork, and written communication. Degree Level Grade G11 Salary Range $53,100.00 – $90,600.00 per annum. Benefits Up to 22 days of vacation, 10 recognized holidays, sick time.
