The position involves working in a dynamic environment, focusing on deliveries, circulating C-sections, and offering care to antepartum patients and newborns during the initial assessment.

Key Responsibilities of the RN - Labor and Delivery

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor for side-effects and effectiveness utilizing appropriate protocols.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers.

Requirements of the RN - Labor and Delivery

• BLS required
• RN License in state of employment or compact
• Current certification in AWHONN Intermediate FHM Instructor, AWHONN Instructor Trainer, or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
• Current NRP certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred
