Mechanical Designer

H&H is offering an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Designer to join our Newark, DE office. The successful candidate will support the design and inspection of movable bridges and tunnels through a combination of office and field work.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical design and inspection tasks for movable bridges and tunnels.
Prepare contract plans, special provisions, engineer's estimates, calculations, inspection reports, and technical memoranda.
Research design options and document findings and recommendations for project managers.
Develop mechanical designs using MicroStation or AutoCAD.
Develop machine design calculations for power transmission components.
Perform a combination of office and field work in support of project assignments.
Assist with the development and documentation of mechanical design solutions for movable bridge and tunnel systems.
Support field inspections and document existing conditions and inspection findings.
Coordinate design information and technical findings with project managers and other members of the project team.
Assist with technical documentation, calculations, drawings, and project deliverables throughout the design process.
Apply sound engineering judgment when evaluating design alternatives and developing practical solutions.
Support project teams with research, technical analysis, and preparation of project documentation.
