Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with SCHOOL COUNSELOR (NT) K-12 endorsement
• Bachelor’s degree with required certification
• Prior teaching experience is highly valued and will be given extra consideration
• Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with adolescents
• Solid understanding of relevant concepts within your content area
• Strong organizational skills and commitment to supporting student well-being

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, social, and emotional counseling to high school students
• Develop and implement programs to support students’ personal and academic achievements
• Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to create student success plans
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions tailored to a diverse student caseload
• Support students in setting and achieving post-secondary goals
• Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality in accordance with school policy
• Contribute to a safe and inclusive school climate

This role is based on a school calendar with a consistent 37.5-hour workweek, allowing you to focus on making a difference in the lives of students while planning and supporting their futures.
