Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support high school students’ academic and personal growth as a contract School Counselor in a vibrant educational environment near Livonia, Michigan. This rewarding opportunity spans the academic year from August 24, 2026, to June 4, 2027, offering a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
You'll champion student success through individualized guidance, collaborating with faculty and families to nurture learners through their high school journey. Your role encompasses not only college and career planning, but also student wellness, advocacy, and developmental support in line with modern counseling strategies.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with SCHOOL COUNSELOR (NT) K-12 endorsement
- Bachelor’s degree with appropriate certification required
- Previous teaching experience is highly valued
- Solid understanding of contemporary concepts in your content area
- Passion for supporting adolescents as they prepare for post-secondary life
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide students through academic, career, and personal development plans
- Offer counseling and intervention to address student needs and challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student well-being
- Lead group sessions and present tailored guidance programming
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in staff meetings and professional development
