Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Float)

Location

Denver Metro Area, Colorado (Zone-Based Float – up to 60-mile radius from Denver city center)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite | Every other weekend and holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in Emergency Room settings across multiple facilities within a defined geographic zone, covering a 60-mile radius from the Denver city center
• Manage a patient assignment of 4–5 patients based on acuity, caring for common ED diagnoses including abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
• Perform and interpret telemetry monitoring independently, as no monitor technicians are on unit
• Conduct point-of-care lab testing following training; collaborate with RT (available 24/7), charge nurses, and support techs to deliver coordinated care
• Administer standard emergency medications and drips in accordance with facility protocols
• Adapt to scheduling in two formats: single-facility weekly assignments or Just-In-Time (JIT) assignments with facility notification 1–2 hours prior to shift start

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Colorado
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Ability and willingness to float to any facility within the assigned zone throughout the duration of the contract
• Must be present in-state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Valid driver's license required; must be able to obtain housing within the zone to support floating requirements

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in an Emergency Room or ED setting
• Experience working in varied ED environments including trauma, STEMI-receiving, and stroke center facilities
• Comfort working in high-volume environments treating 40–168 patients per day depending on facility
