Job Title: Electromechanical Technician Job Description Join a Prototype & Build team as an Electromechanical Technician, supporting the development, testing, and validation of advanced energy storage products. In this hands‑on role, you build and maintain electrical test infrastructure that enables safe, reliable evaluation of PCBAs, battery cells, modules, and system‑level hardware. You work primarily in a lab environment, applying your expertise in control panel wiring, harness fabrication, and PCBA assembly to bring cutting‑edge prototypes to life. Responsibilities Assemble and wire industrial control panels in accordance with UL508A standards. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and mechanical drawings to guide builds and troubleshooting. Fabricate complex wire harnesses and cable assemblies to support prototypes, test fixtures, and system integration. Perform precise crimping, routing, labeling, and continuity verification on wiring and harnesses. Assemble, rework, and repair PCBAs, including both through‑hole and surface‑mount components. Execute fine‑pitch SMD hand‑soldering and hot‑air rework, and perform detailed inspection using microscopes and specialized rework tools. Support prototype bring‑up and troubleshooting in close collaboration with electrical engineers. Construct and maintain electrical test fixtures, load boxes, wiring assemblies, and custom hardware used to characterize and validate battery cells, modules, and electronic subsystems. Install instrumentation, sensors, power supplies, data acquisition systems, and safety interlocks as needed for test setups. Support test engineers and product engineers in setting up, executing, and monitoring electrical tests. Assemble, organize, and inspect test infrastructure electrical subassemblies and integrated test systems to ensure quality and reliability. Use and maintain electrical build tooling in a shared workspace, keeping tools and work areas organized and in good working condition. Commission and troubleshoot completed test infrastructure systems and confirm initial mechanical functionality, including validation using associated sensor readings, in collaboration with commissioning and engineering teams. Document findings, test results, and performance metrics to ensure traceability and support continuous improvement. Offer recommendations for keeping technical documentation, build records, and test procedures up to date and accurate. Identify issues in electrical and test systems, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to effective troubleshooting and repair. Work safely around high‑voltage systems and follow established electrical safety practices and procedures. Essential Skills At least 3 years of hands‑on experience as an engineering technician, electrical technician, panel builder, or in a similar role. At least 3 years of experience in electrical wiring, cable harness fabrication, and industrial control panel assembly. At least 2 years of experience in soldering, including SMD and through‑hole, and PCBA assembly and rework. Strong proficiency in assembling and wiring industrial control panels, ideally with UL508A‑compliant builds. Demonstrated skill in fine‑pitch SMD hand‑soldering, hot‑air rework, and microscope‑based inspection. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings accurately. Hands‑on experience with electrical testing and troubleshooting, including bug reporting and repair of electrical and electronic systems. Familiarity with standard electrical tools, test equipment, and safety practices, including use of digital multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, power supplies, and related instruments. Comfort working with high‑voltage systems while adhering to rigorous safety protocols. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high‑quality standards in assembly and testing work. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with industrial control panels or UL508A‑compliant builds in a lab or manufacturing environment. Background in electronics assembly, including PCB work, component replacement, and rework. Experience in electrical test setup, data acquisition systems, and instrumentation installation. Ability to document test procedures, results, and performance metrics clearly and consistently. Experience in troubleshooting complex electrical and electromechanical systems and communicating findings to engineering teams. Familiarity with blueprint reading and using layout drawings to guide fabrication and assembly. Comfort working in a shared lab and manufacturing workspace, coordinating with engineering, test, and commissioning teams. Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep tools, materials, and documentation well maintained. Interest in energy storage technologies and working on products that support a transition to renewable energy. Why Work Here? You join a mission‑driven organization focused on enabling a 100% renewable energy future for people around the world. The culture emphasizes inclusion, diversity, and collaboration, and seeks to build teams that reflect the communities served by its products.
