Details Labor and Delivery unit within a teaching hospital with over 300 births per month Day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM No blocked scheduling - open availability required Every other weekend required Floating required between High Risk and L&D units Epic EMR experience required Orientation occurs bi-weekly Requirements Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred Prior travel nursing experience required Teaching hospital experience preferred Epic charting experience required Skilled in labor and delivery management, fetal monitoring, and high-risk delivery assistance One supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration Flu vaccine required with no exemptions permitted between October 31 and March 31 Additional Information Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum patient populations Support high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, and vaginal deliveries including forceps or vacuum extraction Manage medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives Provide neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation Deliver postpartum care including breastfeeding support, wound care, and newborn assessments Care for patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and placenta previa Scrubs provided in royal blue First-time travelers will not be considered for this position Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced pay rate Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have worked there within the past 6 months Maximum RTO of 5-7 days must be submitted with candidacy Up to three absences permitted per 13-week contract with attendance monitored throughout the assignment American Traveler Job ID P-747207.
