(The guy writing this started as a laborer, now I am in charge of hiring!)ResponsibilitiesLayout, rigging, connecting, bolting and welding steel by following prints and instructions while guaranteeing all quality and safety standards are met.Read and follow blueprints, sketches and other instructions.Forklift operation for unloading and shaking out steel members.Showing up every day to ensure projects stay on schedule.Layout, cutting, installation, welding, and powder actuated fastening of steel deck.Helping newer ironworkers learn the ins and outs of the trade.QualificationsMust be able to lift 80lbs and withstand the physical demands of erecting steel.Must be able to work at heights of 80 feet or more.Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening for illegal and illicit substances.Welding experience. Pre-interview test will be conducted.Steel erection or similar construction work experience.Compensation: $20.00 - $32.00 per hourSEAA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of steel industry professionals.
