Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is an essential member of the Patient Care Team responsible for delivering direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all areas of the unit. This role involves delegating interventions that may be performed by others, supervising as appropriate, maintaining a safe environment for effective nursing care, providing education to patients and families, and collaborating with other health professionals in the planning and management of healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care in a pediatric setting.
• Delegate and supervise interventions performed by others.
• Maintain a safe environment for the provision of effective nursing care.
• Educate patients and their families about health care needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals for optimal patient care management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Maine RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required.
• Graduate of an approved nursing program required.
• 1-3 years of previous nursing experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
• Basic Dysrhythmia knowledge preferred or to be obtained before completion of orientation.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or to be obtained before completion of orientation.
• Ability to work well in high-stress situations and be a responsible, supportive team player.
