Opportunities exist for motivated Registered Respiratory Therapists (and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technicians) with the skills to provide a high level of quality service in a variety of settings including the ED, Trauma and Critical Care. Summary Provides care for patients on assigned units in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Available Roles Adult Per Diem (minimum 2 years acute respiratory experience required) Pediatric Per Diem (minimum 2 years acute respiratory experience required) Responsibilities Educates the patient and family about the patient’s illness and provides information about community resources. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment. Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance and support groups. Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices. Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Demonstrates flexibility and competency to provide patient care throughout the South Broward Hospital District to a variety of patient populations. Required Work Experience: Two (2) years of experience in an acute care setting. Other Information: Department Specific Credentials:

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for Pediatric areas.
