The State of New Hampshire, Department of Education, Division of Workforce Innovation & Bureau of Disability Determination Service has a full-time vacancy for an Accountant IV.
Summary: To plan and coordinate the fiscal and financial operations of the Disability Determination Services accounting and auditing functions including the development and interpretation of policies and the supervision of technical aspects of accounting services YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

Education and experience must be in accounting, auditing or business administration. Responsibilities: DETAILED TASKS (AGENCY/POSITION-SPECIFIC): Supervises specialized duties on technical fiscal control and develops fiscal controls and summary data. Develops financial spreadsheets for the Bureau of Disability Determination Services. Develops and applies new methods of recording financial transactions to ensure proper spending controls are adhered to and that administrative policies are carried out. Interprets fiscal policies of federal agency. Establishes technical fiscal controls to automate the maintenance of internal federal control ledgers and assumes responsibility for monthly accuracy.
Prepares reports for the Federal Disability Determination Services according to guidelines established.
Assists in the preparation of the budget for the Bureau of Disability Determination Services. Consults with supervisor and Administrator of the Bureau of Finance, Policy and Planning relative to developing budgetary controls and documentation. Attends meetings and trainings to assist with policies and procedures for agency fiscal operations. Responds to questions from agency personnel on expenditures, encumbrances, and other related financial data. Coordinates with other employees within the Department to insure that proper funding controls are kept. Communicates with other agencies to resolve financial issues that arise and to gather information to assist in financial procedures. Plans the development of accounting operational manuals including periodic update of work methods and procedures. Reviews statistical reports and fiscal summaries of accounting staff in order to make decisions concerning new techniques for analysis and control of financial data.
Evaluates work performance of accounting staff concerned with agency fiscal and budgetary operations. Analyzes appropriation expenditures status and assumes responsibility for monthly preparation of status reports.
