Senior Database DeveloperTexas Education Agency requires the services of 1 Developer/Programmer Analyst 3, hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of Developer/Programmer Analyst 3, Applications/Software Development and the specifications outlined in this document for the Texas Education Agency. All work products resulting from the project shall be considered "works made for hire" and are the property of the Texas Education Agency and may include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Candidates) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by Texas law. Texas Education Agency will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Candidate(s).The Senior Database Developer performs highly advanced computer programming work. Works independently to perform the most complex programming work and may review and evaluate programming efforts in relation to system requirements. This position requires excellent Jasper reports/ETL and SQL/PLSQL skills and ability to understand and troubleshoot issues with java/.net application code. Works closely with the development team, the project management team, and the TSDS business areas to develop and deliver high quality applications. We are seeking a team member to architect, design, enhance and maintain the assigned application and work assignments will follow a defined software development life cycle (SDLC) process using an Agile-like approach for completing code changes for defined releases. The Senior Database Developer works across multiple agency stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and efficacy of the project's data processes and reports, in the service of Texas's 1200 school districts.Application Development using SQL/PLSQLStrong expertise to work in SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)Experience with various ETL tools, data integration, and data mappingDev/Unit TestingParticipate in Agile developmentCandidate Skills and QualificationsMinimum Requirements: Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements (skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this opportunity.8 - Required - Strong experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL (advanced concepts such as bulk collect, handling data in JSON)8 - Required - Strong experience with writing complex optimized Oracle queries reducing SGA/PGA/TempSpace usage8 - Required - Strong experience in working with SQL Server8 - Required - Dev/Unit Testing and Documentation8 - Required - Agile Development4 - Required - Strong experience in storing, querying, manipulating JSON data in Oracle database tables4 - Required - Strong experience in creating complex queries and views using data stored in JSON format4 - Required - Optimizing performance of stored procs and views accessing data stored in JSON format5 - Preferred - Knowledge of JIRA/BitBucket2 - Preferred - Experience in Nomad2 - Preferred - Experience with Texas Student Data System (TSDS)
