Cloud Software Engineer, Observability Platforms

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 3+ years of applied experience.
• We need hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We expect experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database query languages.
• We require practical AWS architecture and core services experience, including VPC, EKS, IAM, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, KMS, ALB/NLB, and Auto Scaling.
• We need hands-on experience deploying and operating containerized workloads on AWS ECS and/or EKS, including orchestration, networking/load balancing, IAM/security, autoscaling, and production troubleshooting.
• We require AWS networking knowledge, including VPC design, security groups/NACLs, Private Link/VPC endpoints, hybrid connectivity concepts, and DNS with Route 53.
• We need experience authoring Terraform reusable modules, workspaces, remote state/backends, state management, imports, lifecycle/meta-arguments, dependency design, and troubleshooting plans/applies.
• We require hands-on use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to validate and refine AI-generated output for correctness, performance, and security.
• We expect understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations.
• We require overall knowledge of the software development life cycle.
• We need a solid understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Preferred: familiarity with messaging and streaming systems such as Confluent Kafka, AWS MSK, Kafka Streams, Connect, and Schema Registry.

• We execute software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, and approach problems beyond routine methods.
• We create secure, high-quality production code and maintain synchronous algorithms.
• We use enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex work, while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
• We apply knowledge of software development life cycle tools and AI-assisted automation capabilities to increase the value delivered through automation.
• We produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are reflected in the code we build.
• We gather, analyze, synthesize, and visualize large and diverse data sets to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
• We proactively identify hidden issues and patterns in data and use those insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
