Registered Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will administer respiratory care to patients across all age groups, including neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities. This role includes training and acting as a resource for the respiratory department.

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory therapy treatments and nebulized medications, understanding the purpose and potential side effects.
• Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators as required for patient treatment.
• Performs arterial punctures for blood gas analysis, understanding the associated complications and contraindications.
• Documents all pertinent data in the patient's medical record promptly and accurately.
• Formulates teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs, ensuring effective education delivery.
• Coordinates patient care while adhering to hospital policy and ensuring safety and efficiency in equipment use.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and maintains professional competency through ongoing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Montana Licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist Certification (NBRC).
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• ACLS and PALS certifications within three months of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within three months of hire.
• Preferred certifications in Neonatal-Pediatric Specialist (NBRC-NPS) and/or Adult Critical Care Specialist (NBRC-ACCS).

Schedule

This position requires commitment to the night shift, including on-call duty once every two weeks and variable weekend shifts.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
