You will serve as a key contributor within our Cloud Account Management team; developing tooling, driving Infrastructure-as-Code practices, and delivering technical solutions that enable engineering teams to provision and operate cloud resources securely and efficiently. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong AWS fundamentals, software development skills, and the ability to deliver on high-visibility initiatives in a fast-paced environment.This role requires full-time onsite work in San Diego, CA (5 days per week).This position is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop automation tooling for cloud account provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management across AWS (primary), Azure, and GCPOwn and improve Infrastructure-as-Code modules and pipelines that enable teams to deploy cloud resources consistently and securelyProvide technical guidance to internal engineering and IT teams on account structure, IAM patterns, networking, and workload placementBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting cloud infrastructure delivery, automated testing, and policy enforcementDrive improvements to cloud governance automation including guardrails, compliance checks, and self-service capabilitiesDevelop and maintain scripting and tooling (Python, Bash, or similar) to streamline operational workflows and reduce manual interventionTroubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues, supporting incident response and root cause analysis when neededContribute to IAM strategy, security policy enforcement, and identity federation patterns aligned to enterprise security requirementsSupport FinOps practices including tagging governance, cost allocation, and budget alertingCollaborate with geographically distributed team members to ensure consistent service delivery and knowledge sharingDocument architectural decisions, onboarding procedures, and operational runbooks to support team scalabilityQualifications3+ years of IT-related experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering, or 5+ years without, with demonstrated progression in cloud engineeringHands-on experience with AWS in production environments; working knowledge of core services including IAM, VPC, Organizations, Control Tower, and account management patterns requiredProficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform preferred) including module development, state management, and multi-account provisioning patternsScripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, or equivalent) with the ability to develop internal tooling and workflow automationExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent) for infrastructure deliverySolid understanding of cloud networking fundamentals including VPC/VNet design and hybrid connectivity patternsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering teams and articulate technical recommendationsPreferred QualificationsAWS certifications: Solutions Architect Associate or ProfessionalWorking knowledge of Azure and/or GCP cloud platforms including account/subscription/project structures and identity managementFamiliarity with ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms for request intake and workflow automationExperience with cloud security tooling and frameworks (AWS Config, Security Hub, Azure Policy, or equivalent)Exposure to FinOps practices and cloud cost optimizationExperience working with provisioning automation platforms and self-service cloud account toolingMinimum Qualifications:3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.OR5+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.Applicants : Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
