I'm Ryan Jaiswal of Distinct Recruitment, and I'm recruiting a Litigation Associate for an insurance defense firm in Miami. The role sits in their auto liability defense team.

\n

\n

The longer version

\n

\n

Auto defense in Miami is busy. Traffic is heavy, claims are frequent and the cases are often hard fought. That's bad news for drivers and very good news for associates who want litigation experience. The firm gives associates their own files and expects them to run them properly. That means you'll be the person handling the deposition, arguing the motion and managing the relationship with the adjuster.

Day to day

\n

\n

• Handling a caseload of auto liability files, including commercial vehicle and multi party claims

\n

• Investigating liability and assessing damages early

\n

• Written discovery and document review

\n

• Depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, treaters and experts

\n

• Motion practice and hearings

\n

• Mediations

\n

• Trial preparation and trial participation

\n

\n

What you need

\n

\n

• 2+ years of litigation experience

\n

• Florida Bar admission

\n

• Auto or general defense experience is a plus

\n

• Good organization and a steady approach to volume

\n

\n

The arrangement

\n

\n

• Hybrid, based in Miami

\n

• 1,950 billable hours a year

\n

• $120,000 to $200,000. That's a broad band by design, meant for associates from mid level all the way up to counsel level

\n
