NICU Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Overview Department: Respiratory Care - NICU Schedule: Full time, night shift Hospital: Saint Thomas Midtown Location: Nashville, TN Sign-on bonus: Up to $15,000.00 Responsibilities Come care for our youngest patients as part of our Level III NICU Respiratory Care team! NICU RTs intubate, go to all C-section and high risk deliveries and perform routine therapies like breathing treatments, ventilator/Vapotherm monitoring/manipulation, Curosurf administration and ABG/CBG\'s. They work closely with the providers and nursing staff to ensure the best outcomes for our babies! Our RTs are also trained to be a part of the transport team to provide more specialized care. Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis. Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities. Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome. Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs. Respond to emergency resuscitation team code. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Respiratory Care obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Education High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate\'s degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
