Communicates with physician/manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in the departments with adequate supervision.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates knowledge of basic cardiac rhythms and identifies dysrhythmias.Evaluates patients identifying those at risk for falls and implements the appropriate protocols.Exhibits appropriate use of the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of the following disease entities: COPD, pneumonia, diabetes, anticoagulation therapy, total knee/hip replacement, cholecystectomy, CHF, UTI, MRSA infections, Detox, cancer, pain management.Participates in Medical/ Surgical performance improvement activities.Demonstrates knowledge of standards for restraints and seclusion, i.e. Restraint and Seclusion protocol, physician orders, documentation and reporting, and patient rights and teaching.Knowledgeable of Infection Control, TB, Blood borne Pathogens and Hazardous waste plans.Minimum QualificationsCurrent unrestricted Wyoming Registered Nurse Licensure.BLS certification, required.Preferred baccalaureate degree in nursing.Additional certifications may be required based on unit assignment.Specific demands not listed: Possible exposure to blood and or body fluids / infectious disease / hazardous waste requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Exposure to odorous chemicals / specimens and Latex products. Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required.
