Welder L1 - 1st shift

WelderUnder the direction of the Fabrication Supervisor, the Welder is responsible to weld components and assemble structural forms according to blueprints, ensuring companies goals and objectives are met while adhering to the values of integrity, safety, respect, quality and delivery.This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.Analyzes engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operationsLay out, position, align, secure parts, and assemblies prior to assembly using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulersSelects proper tooling and fixturing for job. Plans sequence of steps to perform dutiesInterpret weld symbolsAssembles metal parts or productsPrepares all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matterOperates various welding, soldering or brazing equipment. Operates hoist, cranes, riggings, dollies and trucks to move equipment from one location to anotherCleans work pieces or finished productsMarks or tags material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.Uses various precision measuring equipment to check workExamines/measures work pieces for defects and with straightedges or blueprints to ensure conformance with specificationsCorrectly fills out all paperwork associated with your job per procedureCompletes job to specifications and in a timely mannerComplies with all safety and sanitation regulationsPerforms other manufacturing duties as assignedTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization. Bilingual English/Spanish helpful, but not required.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, common fractions and decimals.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instruction provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
