Welder 1st Shift

The RoleWe are seeking a 1st Shift Welder to join our team and help drive our continued success. This role plays an important part in supporting our customers, strengthening our business, and contributing to the long-term growth of Douglas Dynamics. Regular 1st shift schedule is 6:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Thursday, with overtime Fridays. The position will pay based on experience, starting at $19.00 - $28.00.How You Will ContributePerforms set-up and welding on a variety of weldments and structures following written "job instructions" or standardized methods and procedures utilizing fixtures and jigs. Set up, operate, adjust, and regulate welding machines to produce high quality weldments and blades for the company's lines of commercial snow and ice control products. Actively participates in a team environment. Perform designated maintenance functions, assumes ownership for quality of weldments, participates in training, performs daily 6S activities, and maintains safety standards.In this role, you will leverage your skills, experience, and perspective to make a meaningful impact. You'll collaborate with teammates across the organization, contribute ideas, and help deliver results that matter for our customers and our business.How You'll Make A DifferenceMaintains good housekeeping and 6S.Adheres to all health and safety rules.Produce quality welded components to daily production requirements.Scrap reduction and quality control.Ability to work within a group to achieve team goals.Willingness to work overtime as necessary.Follow Douglas Dynamics' rules regarding work and conduct.What This Role NeedsEducation: Welding Technology Degree or Welding Technical Diploma desirable.Experience: 1 to 2 years welding in a production setting desired. Strong basic math skills and ability to read blueprints are required.
