About the Organization Since 2016, Across the Aisle — a nonpartisan, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization — has been providing young Americans (ages 14 to 35) with opportunities to learn, lead, and find bipartisan solutions to our country’s biggest challenges. We work with experts from both sides of the aisle to empower voters with reliable facts and a framework to make their own informed decisions. Our leadership programs identify and prepare students and early‑career professionals from both parties for decision‑making positions on Capitol Hill, in the executive branch, and in other public service roles. Our core policy areas include fiscal issues like the national debt and the federal budget, as well as entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicare. Position Description Across the Aisle is hiring a Leadership Programs Coordinator for its Answer the Call program to help us engage, educate, and empower the next generation of public policy leaders. The Leadership Department serves a national cohort of more than 200 undergraduate students, and the Coordinator is responsible for managing, assessing, and overseeing the professional development of participants on college campuses in a specific region of the country. The Coordinator serves as a student’s primary point of contact within the organization and helps them maximize their participation in the program. They teach leadership skills, communicate responsibilities and expectations, evaluate participant performance, and assist students with program requirements and opportunities. Among these opportunities is the planning and production of on‑campus policy events; depending on activity within the Coordinator’s region, the role may require significant travel during the academic semesters (20‑30%). Candidates who are FtF alumni or have participated in similar leadership programs through their college/university or a non‑profit organization will receive strong preference. Core Duties Manage, assess, support, and assist a regionalized cohort of leadership participants throughout the academic year. Assist the Senior Admissions Associate with the admissions process by reviewing applications and conducting interviews. Serve as the primary contact for leadership participants in their assigned region, answering questions, providing mentorship, and documenting correspondence. Oversee leadership participant performance by tracking completed tasks, drafting performance evaluations, and providing regional reports to senior staff. Assist participants in their region with the planning and production of in‑person events. Provide lead‑up and on‑the‑ground support for FtF campus events, including policy events for our Campus Policy Tour, recruitment dinners, and other FtF‑branded events. Track event‑related tasks and activities to ensure successful event execution. Assist in the planning and production of virtual and in‑person events that serve the entire program cohort. Manage program logistics using organization software platforms including Asana, Slack, and program paperwork. Assist with the development of Ambassador‑focused communications, such as The Pulse newsletter and Slack announcements. Requirements Bachelor of arts degree in student affairs, hospitality, political science, government, public policy, communications, or a related field. 1+ years of experience (includes internships) in government, higher education, event planning, program administration, sales, or related fields. Able to balance multiple projects simultaneously, delegate work effectively, meet deadlines, and work within established budgets. Able to travel 20% or more of the year locally and nationally. Flexibility to work evening hours and occasional weekends. Familiarity with Slack, Google Workspace, Asana, Hubspot, Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, Zoom, Navan. Able to meet the demands of an on‑site event environment. Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods. Ability to lift and/or move boxes and equipment. Ability to position oneself under tables or stages and/or lower oneself to the floor.
