Serves a diverse group of inpatients and outpatients on a dynamic team dedicated to continuing education, professional growth, and high-quality patient care. Employs radiologic sciences technology to perform a variety of patient care, technical, and diagnostic tasks targeted to the care of patients with cardiovascular disease. Major tasks include ultrasound imaging, patient preparation and post procedure care, procedure room set-up and cleaning, technical reporting, and quality monitoring.Hours: Candidate choice of either of the below:Five 8-hour shifts/week: 7:30am - 4:00pmFour 10-hour shifts/week: 7:30am - 6:00pmResponsibilities:Performs cardiac ultrasound evaluationsAttends weekly department educational conferencesCommunicates urgent exam findings to Cardiologist and routes studies for interpretationObtains pertinent patient health history prior to examinationPrepares procedure room and maintains equipmentIdentifies and reports any equipment issuesMay be asked to help teach students, fellow cardiologists, and co-workersEducation Requirements: Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology or a related field within 3 months of hire, OR Completion of a twelve (12) month ultrasound program within 3 months of hire. Licensure/Certification Requirements: Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire. Must maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually. Professional Experience Requirements: One year minimum experience in acute hospital setting.
