Job Title: Energy Engineer

Location: New York, NY 10003
Duration: 6 Months Contract (Without Benefits)
Pay-rate range: $50 - $60/hr. on w2.
Shift: Monday - Friday (9:00 am - 5:00 pm)

We are seeking an Energy Engineer for a in New York, NY, with potential extension and conversion to a full-time role based on performance and budget. This hybrid position supports a 10+ person team and focuses on commercial building energy efficiency engineering, technical reviews of energy efficiency and rebate projects, energy audits, modeling, and savings calculations.

Responsibilities

Perform commercial building energy efficiency engineering and energy analyses.
Conduct technical reviews of energy efficiency and rebate projects.
Complete energy audits, energy modeling, bin analysis, and complex savings calculations.
Evaluate HVAC and building systems, including chillers, boilers, heat pumps, AHUs, motors, VFDs, and BMS/BAS.
Apply the NYS Technical Resource Manual, ASHRAE standards, and applicable energy codes.
Coordinate project scope, schedules, and deliverables across multiple stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Four years of engineering work experience focused on energy efficiency.
Experience in the energy efficiency industry.
Familiarity with the NYS Technical Resource Manual and energy codes, including ASHRAE and IECC.
Proficiency in energy modeling, bin analysis, and complex calculations.
Strong technical knowledge of building envelopes and building systems, including HVAC, motors, VFDs, and BMS.
Experience conducting technical reviews and energy analyses of projects.
Experience managing projects and coordinating scope, schedules, and deliverables across multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with complex energy modeling and simulation software, such as eQUEST, DOE-2.1E, DOE-2.2, Trane TRACE 3D Plus, OpenStudio, TREAT, NEO, IES VE, or Carrier HAP.
