About the Role The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) is seeking an operational leader with strong strategic planning and facilities management experience to join our team as Area Director Facilities Management . This is a unique opportunity to lead services that directly impact patient care, staff wellbeing and organisational performance while contributing to the future development of one of Australia's leading paediatric health services. Reporting to the Director Infrastructure and Facilities Management, you will lead a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for the operation, maintenance and performance of critical hospital infrastructure, building and engineering services, plant and equipment at Perth Children's Hospital and Neonatology and our community-based facilities within the Perth metropolitan area. You will oversee the operation and maintenance of complex healthcare systems including HVAC, medical gases, steam and hydraulic systems, fire protection, emergency power generation, building management systems and associated engineering services. You will work closely with executives, clinicians, contractors and government stakeholders to ensure facilities are safe, compliant, sustainable and responsive to the evolving needs of healthcare delivery, and have opportunity to influence asset management, infrastructure performance and long-term facilities planning. Key Responsibilities Leading and managing multidisciplinary facilities management and engineering teams across CAHS. Developing and implementing strategic facilities management plans aligned to organisational priorities. Managing operational budgets, resources, maintenance programs and contractor performance. Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and accreditation requirements. Providing expert advice on infrastructure projects, asset management and facilities planning. Leading risk management, emergency response planning and recovery strategies relating to engineering and facilities services. Driving preventative maintenance, asset lifecycle planning and replacement programs. Establishing and monitoring energy management initiatives and sustainability programmes. Building strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, government agencies, Health Service Providers and contractors. Qualifications To be suitable, you should have extensive experience managing complex infrastructure within large organisations, preferably in healthcare or government settings.
