Project Engineer

Project EngineerThis Project Engineer is responsible for assisting the project team in the planning and execution of successful construction projects. While this position is primarily based in our Columbus, OH office, travel to and work from project sites may be required and assigned based on project needs.Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelops solid working relationships with all project personnelAssists in the preparation of work orders, schedules, drawings, field measurements, subcontracts, and supplier agreementsAttends pre-construction meetings; assists with the preparation of action items lists and proposed solutionsProvides support to the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Contract Administrator with preparation of job documents and materialsAnalyzes, processes, and assists with the project layout, construction sequencing, cost analysis, measurement of quantities, and clarification of specifications as necessaryEnsures that proper document control, quality assurance documentation, and construction project records are kept in accordance with expectationsAssists in monitoring the project site to ensure that the work is progressing on scheduleProvides support to field personnelResponsibilities and tasks outlined in this document are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the companyKnowledge & SkillsAble to read and comprehend contract documents and construction plansSolid general math skills with the ability to complete field calculationsProficient in MS Office and construction softwareExcellent oral and written communicationAccuracy and attention to detailAble to deal effectively and tactfully with customers and employees at all levelsAble to act in a safe manner alwaysHigh level of motivation, a'self-starter'EducationBachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field; equivalent field experience will be considered.2 years of construction experience with heavy/civil preferred.Travel RequirementsAbility and willingness to travel overnight and for extended periods of time as required by project needs.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
