Job Overview Basic Summary A Medical Technologist I is responsible for performing specimen analyses and administrative duties, required by protocols, Business Operating Procedures (BOPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), on biological specimens from all species to produce sound, accurate, and reliable data. The individual in this role must use good communication and interpersonal skills in a collaborative team environment. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Ensure good welfare and humane care for all animals worked with through gentle, positive human-animal interactions. Train on all Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs). Train in on-boarding tasks which may include reading protocols, SOPs, and BOPs. Performs basic medical technology techniques on primary benches (urinalysis, coagulation, hematology, and chemistry). Processes specimens: checking for clots, making blood smears and pipetting of serum/plasma. Trains and gains proficiency in Medical Technologist I core skills and values. Perform all other related duties as assigned. The pay for this position is $28.00 - 32.00/hr. Qualifications Job Description Education: Associate degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent in medical laboratory technology (MLT) or related field desired. Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in medical technology (MT) preferred. Experience: 0-1 year of experience in a clinical pathology laboratory. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
