Join the MasTec family and help us deliver the highest level of service to our clients and communities, maintaining our commitment to safety.Responsibilities: As a Construction Worker/Assistant, you are responsible for providing general labor for aerial and underground construction projects. You believe in doing the job right, being the best, and are ready for the challenge. Additionally, you will perform the following tasks:Perform various manual tasks, such as digging trenches, unloading construction materials, and preparing work sites with hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks.Carry out general work on construction sites.Install conduits as per the instructions of the Foreman or Supervisor.Participate in reading maps and directions.Assist with trench excavation and closure.Help with the movement of materials and vehicles as per the instructions of the Foreman or Supervisor.Perform maintenance services as per the instructions of the Foreman, including cleaning, washing vehicles, and landscaping.Carry out all tasks in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and use appropriate safety equipment.Participate in operations of vehicles and equipment, from trucks to other equipment, as per the corresponding instructions and certifications.Tow various trailers with flatbed trucks.Perform aerial/underground work as required and as per training.Diagnose RF and fiber optic line and equipment problems.Build and repair underground RF and fiber optic services.Learn to read and build from a design schematic or map.Learn all required inventory and equipment for these projects.As appropriate, learn and obtain certification for the use of equipment such as: Line Truck, Bucket Truck, Cable Reel Equipment, and Saws and Drills.Safely scale poles with climbing equipment.Move and relocate RF and fiber optic services.Be familiar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) safety guidelines.Qualifications: About you: Safety is part of your daily routine. You have a history of completing work with a high level of quality. You have a knack for solving difficult problems and enjoy a practical approach to your work. You are looking for long-term projects. You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your equipment. You have a valid driver’s license. You have a clean driving record. You can lift and carry up to 70 pounds. You have the ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and blueprints for the project construction process. Certification of climbing or related experience. Practical construction experience for aerial RF and fiber. Knowledge of aerial material list. Knowledge of city, county, and state authorization codes and related knowledge. Extensive knowledge of network architecture and design for RF and fiber networks. Signal tagger certification for field work as needed. Excellent verbal, written, telephone, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.Compensation: $20 per hour. Hard work has rewards.
