Disability Personnel Specialist (Senior Personnel Specialist) Department of General Services JC-519886 Salaries range from $5,663.00 to $7,097.00 per month. Work arrangement: Eligible to telework up to three days a week under the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to office as needed. Must reside in California. Responsibilities Under general direction of Supervisor I, the Senior Personnel Specialist serves as the expert staff resource in the processing and application of various disability programs, including Industrial Disability Leave (IDL), Temporary Disability (TD), Non-Industrial Disability (NDI), State Disability Insurance (SDI), and Catastrophic Leave in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, bargaining contracts and governing agencies. Minimum Qualifications Minimum qualifications as stated in the Classification Specification. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by the start date of employment. This position does not use E-Verify. Desirable Qualifications Experience processing time‑sensitive and complex disability and medical payroll transactions. Dependable with excellent time management skills. Ability to develop and conduct training. Experience analyzing information, rules and regulations, and providing guidance. Excellent verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to collaborate with multiple business areas to solve complex problems. Ability to shift priorities, workloads, and work schedules to meet deadlines. Self‑starter with ability to work in a team environment. Ability to make sound decisions and produce alternatives when feasible. Creativity and willingness to work in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
