Details 16-bed Neuro ICU with a 1:2 patient ratio Patient population includes stroke, ICH, SAH, SDH, brain tumors, increased ICP, hydrocephalus, acute respiratory failure, sepsis, ARDS, COPD/asthma exacerbation, acute heart failure, AKI, DKA/HHS, GI bleeds, acute liver failure, and severe electrolyte abnormalities Titration of drips required including Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Vasopressin, Phenylephrine, and Dopamine Unit supported by two clinical techs for 16 patients RT equipment includes mechanical ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP) Phillips telemetry monitors used; no dedicated tele/monitor techs, RNs read their own strips Uses Epic EMR Night shift schedule, 7PM-7AM Works every other weekend No on-call requirements Floating expectations include MSICU, PCCU, and boarding patients on the unit Requirements Active VA or compact RN license Current BLS and ACLS certification Minimum 2 years of recent experience required; cardiac experience not required Must pass an ECG exam on day two of assignment (pass/fail) Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to complex neurological and medical ICU patients Holiday coverage required for 1 major holiday (Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day, or Thanksgiving/day after) and 1 minor holiday (Labor Day, 4th of July, or Memorial Day) Navy blue scrubs required Returning employees may be considered 12 months after their last shift worked American Traveler Job ID P-769094.
