Position Overview We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Lewiston, Maine facility. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment to support continuous production operations. The Maintenance Technician performs mechanical and electrical maintenance, fabricates replacement components when needed, and works closely with Production and Engineering teams to maximize equipment reliability and plant performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys diagnosing equipment issues, solving technical challenges, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment throughout the facility Fabricate, construct, and assemble mechanical and electrical components using blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings Perform preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, and machine repairs to minimize downtime Conduct welding, brazing, soldering, electrical calibration, and other maintenance activities as needed Utilize hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and diagnostic instruments to complete repairs safely and accurately Complete maintenance documentation, work orders, and equipment records using computerized maintenance systems Maintain a clean, safe work environment while following all company safety policies and procedures Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional maintenance duties as assigned What Success Looks Like High equipment reliability and reduced unplanned downtime Safe, efficient completion of maintenance and repair activities Timely preventative maintenance completion and accurate documentation Strong collaboration with Production and Engineering teams Quality workmanship that supports long-term equipment performance Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence Ideal Candidate Profile Minimum of 1 year of industrial maintenance experience; electro‑mechanical degree or equivalent experience preferred Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation and reporting Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills Welding, fabrication, or machining experience is a plus Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative maintenance team Why Join Elmet Technologies Opportunity to support advanced manufacturing equipment serving aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and energy industries Hands‑on role with diverse mechanical and electrical maintenance responsibilities Collaborative culture focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and qualifications Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, holidays, and career development opportunities Search Process Note The Elmet Group is managing this search directly and is not accepting submissions from outside recruitment firms.
