Position: Cardiothoracic Surgical Technologist

Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (06:30 - 17:00)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic surgical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiothoracic surgery, demonstrating the ability to provide exceptional support within the operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with surgical procedures in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).
Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgeries.
Handle instruments and supplies needed for cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, including CABG, AVR, AAA, MVR, and more.
Participate in at least 10 call shifts per month, with availability for calls from 17:00 - 06:30.
Float to general operating rooms as needed.

Schedule Requirements

4x10 days schedule with regular hours from 06:30 to 17:00.
Availability for 1-2 weekends per month.
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays during the holiday season.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of experience in surgical technology, preferably in cardiothoracic surgery.
Required certifications: BLS, WA state license, and NBSTSA certification preferred.
Experience in handling various surgical procedures, including but not limited to laparoscopic, robotic, and general surgeries.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Skills

Proficient in scrub duties for cardiothoracic cases.
Experience with flexible endoscope reprocessing.
Competence in handling bronchoscopes, EGD scopes, and EBUS.
Solid understanding of aseptic techniques and universal protocols.

Work Environment

This position will take place in a Level II Trauma Center with a daily average surgical case volume of approximately 55 cases. The facility supports a collaborative and interdisciplinary team approach to patient care.

Additional Information

Scrub colors may vary, but reddish-orange is not permitted.

Charting will be completed using the EPIC system.
