Description

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist for a Level II Trauma Center, requiring cardiovascular/thoracic surgical experience and WA state licensure.

Details

• CVOR unit with an average daily surgical case volume of 55
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Requires a minimum of 10 call shifts per month, with call hours from 5:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• 1-2 weekend shifts required per month
• Cardiovascular and thoracic procedures include CABG, AVR, AAA repair, MVR, minimally invasive valve surgery, VATS, mediastinoscopy, RATS, and CVL support with carotid cutdowns and laser lead standby
• Performs flexible endoscope reprocessing, with preferred experience in bronchoscopes, EGD scopes, and EBUS
• Primarily scrubs solo on cardiothoracic cases and will be expected to float to the general OR as needed
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years of surgical technologist experience required
• BLS certification required
• WA state registration required; license required if applicable
• NBSTSA certification preferred
• Experience in general, cardiovascular/thoracic, and laparoscopic surgery required
• Experience with adolescent patient population preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Quick learner with willingness to assist and adapt to new procedures

Additional Information

• Facility is a Level II Trauma Center with 571 total staffed beds across both campuses
• Assist with cardiovascular, thoracic, and general surgical cases in a fast-paced OR environment
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with instrument preparation for complex cardiothoracic procedures
• Support flexible endoscope reprocessing workflows
• Scrub color is flexible except reddish orange
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates are not accepted and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside a 50-mile radius
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Candidates must be willing to work 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
