Job Opportunity – Critical Care ICU Registered Nurse – Pennsylvania

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Eastern Pennsylvania

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week assignment with every other weekend and holiday requirement. Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 3:1 in ICU settings; may float to medical-surgical units with up to 4 patients. No on-call required. 40 hours of orientation provided.

• Work in a large 981-bed Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment with diverse critical care experiences across 7 specialized ICU units
• Comprehensive critical care float pool opportunity including MICU/SICU, Cardiac ICU, Trauma/Neuro ICU, Neuroscience ICU, Open Heart Unit, and Burn Unit
• Adult and geriatric patient populations with advanced care including post-cardiac surgery, traumatic brain injury, stroke management, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Epic charting system with robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
• Excellent facility reputation among healthcare travelers with many converting to permanent staff positions
• Extensive skill development opportunities including Swan-Ganz monitoring, ECMO, ventilator management, cardiac drip titration, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring

Requirements:

• Active Pennsylvania RN license or Compact state license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required; CVICU experience strongly preferred
• Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Demonstrated competency in critical care skills including arterial line management, ventilator management, vasoactive drip titration, central line care, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with patient ratios of 2-3 patients required
• Float pool or multi-unit critical care experience strongly preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Willingness to complete PA state fingerprinting and background clearances
• Must reside outside 50-mile local radius to qualify for standard travel compensation
