Additional Information

• Reason for recruitment: Expansion of the Emergency Department and a permanent replacement
• All physicians are board-certified and trained in Emergency Medicine; locum candidates must meet this requirement
• Preference will be given to candidates with an active license in Alabama
• Shift hours: 5 PM to 3 AM
• Required schedule: 5 to 8 shifts per month
• Available start date: Shifts can begin as early as June, with flexibility to accommodate availability
• Potential coverage needed through the end of the year; while the exact timeframe is uncertain, ongoing needs are anticipated as the expansion progresses
• High patient volume with over 60,000 visits annually
• Designated as a Level 2 trauma center
• Recognized as a comprehensive stroke center
• Seven physicians provide coverage within a 24-hour period
• Independent fast track service staffed by Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
• Electronic Medical Records system: Epic
• Credentialing process duration: approximately 60 days
