Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
Seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in a Medical Surgical Stroke Stepdown unit. The nurse will monitor adult patients with various diagnoses, including stroke, renal, COPD, CHF, and pulmonary issues, ensuring comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care for adult patients with neurological and systemic conditions.
• Administer medications and therapies using IV pumps, feeding tubes, and other specialty equipment.
• Monitor and document patient status, including mental status, vital signs, and response to treatment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid NY RN license with active status.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience with stroke stepdown care.
• Current BLS, NIHSS, and NIH certifications.
• Evidence of recent travel experience and ability to work floating shifts.
• Current driver's license matching demographics.
• Ability to verify and document required certifications and licenses upon submission.
