Innovation Norway's offices in California are looking for a new team member to help Norwegian companies succeed in the U.S. market . You will work closely with entrepreneurs and growth companies, supporting partnerships, business development, sales opportunities, and investor outreach. Based in San Francisco and Palo Alto, you'll be part of a global team that connects ambitious Norwegian companies with customers, investors, and industry leaders in one of the world's most dynamic innovation ecosystems . The role and responsibilities Support companies in all aspects of sales. Support and lead capital outreach projects for Norwegian scaleups, including investor mapping, outreach preparation, pitch positioning, and follow-up with relevant U.S. investors. Provide professional advice to our clients and play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of their export priorities. Proactively engage to identify and promote export opportunities and effectively build strong relationships with key partners nationally and internationally. Accommodate and train Norwegian executives through Innovation Norway’s global competence programmes. Facilitate impactful business conferences, networking events and executive visiting programmes. Actively contribute to driving a culture of collaboration and high performance empowering Norwegian businesses in existing and future prioritized sectors. Provide market updates, collecting and leveraging data. Help Norwegian companies understand and apply relevant AI trends, tools, and market opportunities in the U.S. ecosystem, particularly where AI can strengthen international growth, sales, and product-market fit. Key competencies and personal skills Master’s degree within technology and/or business. Minimum three years of relevant working experience. Knowledge of relevant industries and businesses (please elaborate on area of expertise), and evidence of the ability to deliver client impact within allocated budgets, i.e. from management consultancy. Good understanding of the commercial drivers of trade and investment. Experience and proven results from sales or business development/consulting. Well-developed sensitivity to secure confidence of clients and key stakeholders, and the resilience to operate in a highly competitive business culture and under sustained pressure. Practical experience with AI tools, trends, and applications relevant to business development, market research, sales, and productivity. Ability to translate complex technology and market trends, especially within AI, SaaS, and emerging technologies, into practical advice for companies entering or scaling in the U.S. market. Fluency in English is required ; proficiency in a Scandinavian language is an advantage. Experience from capital raising, investor relations, venture capital, or structured investor outreach projects is an advantage.
