What You'll Do

As a Distribution Engineer, you'll play an important role in supporting the planning, design, and execution of electric distribution projects. Responsibilities include:

• Conduct field visits to collect critical data, including pole heights, equipment details, voltages, locations, and system conditions.
• Develop distribution system designs using field-collected data, engineering standards, and utility requirements.
• Collaborate with project teams, senior engineers, and clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss project scope, design progress, and technical considerations.
• Gain firsthand knowledge of power distribution systems through on-site project exposure.
• Support project documentation and design efforts using industry-standard software, including SPANS, CREWS, DDS, and PoleForeman.
• Assist with pole loading analyses and other engineering evaluations.
• Coordinate effectively with remote and field-based teams using Microsoft Teams and other collaboration tools.
• Travel to project sites as needed, with mileage reimbursement provided.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and design principles.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret technical field data.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel locally to project sites and maintain reliable transportation.
• Ability to thrive in a hybrid environment, balancing field responsibilities with remote design work.
• Eagerness to learn new engineering software, tools, and utility design standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework, internship, or project experience related to power systems, utilities, or distribution design.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Exposure to electrical engineering, utility infrastructure, or mechanical design concepts.
• Experience with drafting, bill of materials (BOM) creation, or engineering documentation.
• Interest in building a long-term career within the power and utility industry.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
