Residential Supervisor - Bergen County, NJ

Full Time Residential SupervisorNIPD-NJ is actively seeking a Full Time Residential Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an effective leader as well as a team player with high levels of integrity, flexibility and dedication. You will work in a residential group home teaching life skill, providing individual and group counseling, recreation, and promoting community integration. Our program supports an aging and active people with intellectual and or developmental disabilities. This unique opportunity caters to providing supports to the older population, in all areas of care. This may include supporting people with conditions such as functional impairment and dementia; people who use oxygen tanks; and people who may frequent trips to the hospital for both emergency and routine services. Our programs require the understanding of varying psychological complexities, and the ability to exhibit patience.Key Responsibilities:Ensure the program provides the appropriate level of supervision for the people we support at all times.Oversee the financial systems of both the program as well as the people we support and ensure fiscal responsibility and integrity.Interview, hire, train and supervise all levels of staff including DSP's and Assistant Supervisor.Work with the program nurse to ensure proper medical care and follow up including all medical appointments as well as medication administration for the people we support.Ensure a cooperative environment with family members as well as outside providers.Requirements:A High School Diploma or GED is required; BA/BS degree preferredA valid Driver's License with no more than 5 points is required, NJS preferred1-3 years experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities required, 3-5 years preferred1-3 years experience supervising various levels of staff required, 3-5 years preferredAbility to participate in a minimum of 2 days of NJS Mandated DDD initial trainings during normal business hours upon hireTuberculosis test required for most positionsNew Jersey State drug test screening is mandatorySchedule: Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm with flexibility required.
