Description:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for all areas relating to accounting and financial reporting for their assigned division. The Senior Accountant addresses a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation; cash management, credit and collections; inventory control and budget activities. He/She will report to the Controller.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collections, inter-company accounts, fixed asset registers, inventory control and reconciliation, property and local tax reports.

• Recording and analyzing cost information for use in controlling inventory and expenditures
• Prepare monthly gross margin analysis
• Budgeting activities and analysis of performance compared to budgets
• Compile information and file local tax returns
• Ensure timely reporting of all financial information including monthly and year end close
• Assist in year-end activities and provide substantiation documents to support the audit

Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
• Five years’ experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area
• Experience using ERP systems
• Must have excellent analytical skills and sound understanding of accounting principles
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong excel skills, i.e. V-Lookups, pivot tables, etc.
• Experience in manufacturing and cost accounting preferred.
