Job Summary Manufacturing technician is an integral part of the overall process required to convert human plasma to injectable protein therapies. The technician is responsible for the set‑up, operation and cleaning of various process equipment utilized to separate, purify, fill, inspect and package the protein products manufactured by Grifols. Essential Job Duties Responsible for equipment cleaning, setup and operation in a biologics processing environment for plasma‑derived pharmaceuticals. Strict adherence to procedures and practices according to FDA regulations. Strong emphasis on documentation according to FDA regulations. Adhere to departmental corporate safety policies. Responsible for facility and equipment cleaning. All work is performed in a clean room (sanitized) manufacturing environment. Perform daily tasks: cleaning/sanitizing aseptic and non‑aseptic processing areas, preparing and sterilizing filling and freeze‑drying components (vials, stoppers, filling assemblies), and performing aseptic fills. May be trained in the freeze drying (lyophilization) process. Utilizes touch screen Operator Interface Terminals (OIT). Requirements High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree, applicable certification and/or military veterans preferred. Proactive, results oriented, strong attention to detail. Self‑starter with strong work ethic and good judgment. Effective prioritization and management of multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact at all levels in a team environment. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Must be flexible with working hours/shifts to accommodate the 24‑hour, 7‑day plant operation. Potential Shifts Shifts are based on availability during time of offer. Swing: 2:00 pm‑10:30 pm ‑ Monday through Friday Graveyard: 10:00 pm‑6:30 am ‑ Monday through Friday Weekend Grave: 6:00 pm‑6:00 am ‑ Saturday, Sunday and 1 weeknight Weekend Day: 6:00 am‑6:00 pm ‑ Saturday, Sunday and 1 weekday Occupational Demands Work performed in a manufacturing environment or warehouse with rotating shifts. Exposure to biological fluids, chemicals, electrical equipment, hand tools and moving machinery. Operates forklifts, tractors and power equipment. Exposure to high levels of noise and dust/gas/fumes/steam. Exposure to extreme cold below 32°F and on occasion, extreme heat above 100°F. Exposure to vibration or oscillating movements. Occasional entry into confined spaces. Works at heights on scaffolding or ladders. Walks on uneven ground. Personal protective equipment required: protective eyewear, face shields, chemical suits, safety shoes and/or rubber footwear, gloves, hearing protection, respirator. Heavy lifting of 45 lbs for up to 6–8 hours per day, with a maximum lift of 75 lbs. Standing, walking, bending, twisting waist for 4‑6 hours per day. Frequent foot movements. Reaches above and below shoulder height. Bends and twists neck. Frequent hand movements with simple grasping, fast repeated movements of fingers, hands, wrists. Precise coordination of fingers. Hearing acuity essential. Color, depth perception, far vision correctable 20/30 one eye, 20/100 other eye. Communicate information and ideas so others understand; listen to and understand information presented orally and written. Compensation & Benefits Estimated pay scale for Manufacturing Technician role based in California: $21.50–$22.00 per hour. Eligible to participate in up to 5% of company bonus pool. Final compensation packages depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, role location, internal equity and market data.
