Multi-Unit | On-Site Chicago, IL | $80,000 to $90,000 annually Overview Our client is seeking a high-caliber Senior Restaurant Operations Bookkeeper to lead operational financial discipline across four restaurant locations operating in a 95% cashless environment. This is a financial ownership role responsible for payroll accuracy, benefits administration, reconciliation integrity, disciplined accounts payable management, and full month-end readiness across all stores. You will work directly with ownership and leadership. Precision, accountability, and systems discipline are essential. What You Will Own Payroll Leadership Full-cycle payroll for 171 employees across four locations Payroll tax compliance and multi-jurisdiction filings Garnishments, levies, and tip reporting accuracy Audit-ready documentation and internal payroll controls Payroll process improvement and system optimization Benefits Administration Health, dental, vision, and life insurance administration Open enrollment execution 401(k) coordination and contribution reporting Liaison with insurance brokers and providers Revenue and Reconciliation Oversight (95% Cashless) Daily POS-to-merchant reconciliation Credit card settlement verification Third-party platform deposit tracking Processor fee monitoring and variance analysis Chargeback tracking and dispute management Revenue integrity monitoring across all stores Accounts Payable Control Invoice coding and vendor management in QuickBooks and xtraChef Statement reconciliation Payment timing management Vendor communication and issue resolution Cash flow discipline Month-End Execution Full store-level reconciliations Clean and organized general ledger management Minimal CPA reclasses through disciplined bookkeeping Preparation of monthly reporting packages Weekly financial review meetings with leadership Ideal Candidate 5+ years bookkeeping experience, multi-unit restaurant experience strongly preferred Direct payroll processing experience for 150+ employees Strong payroll tax and compliance knowledge Experience in high-volume, primarily cashless environments Advanced reconciliation skills Strong QuickBooks proficiency Systems-minded and process-driven High integrity and operational maturity Comfortable working directly with ownership Compensation Base Salary: $75,000 to $90,000 annually Compensation aligned to experience and demonstrated capability managing multi-unit payroll and financial operations.
