This is a contract job opportunity with potential for perm. Location: Tulsa OK. Schedule: 8:30am-5pm M-F. Projected duration: 3 months + potential for perm. Job code: CVDJP00035339. Benefits are available.

Requires a minimum of 1 year of experience. Pediatric and geriatric experience preferred.

Summary: The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshoot, train and provide work flow recommendations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Skills in blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, data recording, decontamination, patient information updating, etc.
• Ensures proper collection and storage of specimens according to established procedures. Clearly explains the venipuncture process and other specimen collections to patients. Demonstrates different techniques using needles as required. Understands all physician orders.
• Matches requisition forms to specimen tubes, labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimens as needed for tests.
• Validates test requisitions against script for accuracy. Packages specimens for transport following proper procedures.
• Stores specimens at the correct temperature, labels accurately, follows transport protocols, complies with regulations, attends trainings, and answers inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have a valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment where required. At least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience required.
