With the support of more than 30,000 team members, we promote a forward-thinking philosophy that's built on a foundation of trust, dignity, respect, responsibility, and clinical excellence.BayCare is Tampa Bay's leading multi-specialty group with more than 600 providers practicing 45 specialties in over 175 outpatient locations throughout the Tampa Bay and west central Florida regions.Role OverviewAs a Medical Assistant or LPN, you will support clinical operations by assisting providers and delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring efficient workflows within the practice.Key responsibilities include:Assisting providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatmentsObtaining patient histories and preparing patients for visitsPerforming routine lab procedures and preparing specimens for transport to the labFollowing up on test orders and communicating results to providers and patientsMaintaining patient education materialsCreating and updating patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR)Maintaining medical equipment and clinical suppliesEnsuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulationsPerforming other duties as assignedQualificationsEducationRequired:High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)Preferred:Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related technical trainingExperiencePreferred:Two (2) years of Medical Assistant experienceLicensure / CertificationRequired:Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six (6) months of hire OR proof of active license/certification as one of the following:EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)NREMT (Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician)ParamedicLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Additional Preference:If you have completed a Medical Assistant externship, it is crucial to include this information on your application and resume.
