Description of Work This position is located at Foothills Correctional Institution in Morganton, Burke County, NC. Foothills Correctional Institution is a close/minimum custody Male facility housing 712 single cells. This position is located in the Maintenance Department and is responsible for performing preventive and routine corrective maintenance tasks and ensuring that assigned systems, equipment and facilities are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. Position reports to the facility Maintenance Supervisor. Key Duties Supervise staff and oversee offender work assignments to ensure productivity and compliance Plan, coordinate, and manage projects, including task delegation and meeting established deadlines Ensure completion of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks in a safe, timely, and efficient manner Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings Operate and maintain a variety of tools, machinery, and equipment Remain available for on-call duties and respond to after-hours maintenance needs Salary Grade Salary Grade: $41,206-$72,113- Salary Grade NC09 Skills and Abilities/Knowledge Management Preferences Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
